Marimekko-anteckningsbok

Something to look at. Origami cranes.

Truffle sunday
Today me and Bebé Dragon are making truffles as a housewarming present for a couple we're visiting this afternoon. A bit of licorice powder enhances the chocolate in a very nice way. And there will be plenty left for me.
Since I just learnt how to make origami boxes, we made a box as well. So much fun! Little effort, great result.

As you can see, Bebé is thrilled about the absolutely adorable whisks we won in the lottery at the talented Pia's blog a while ago. Thank you a million Pia, they are just great! (I might turn them into jewelry once Bebé isn't looking.)

A notebook
I took a cover from an old book of prayers for children. Very beautiful.
Then made a mix of nice papers , cheap papers, papers with holes, blue papers...
Some nice pictures, some kind of akward. I scanned petals, photos, hair, a dishcloth, sketches, toys, candy wraps. Surprises everywhere.
Then i bound it all with silk string and glued it into the cover.
Done! Ready for notes.

Chocolate box redressed
Before Christmas I got a chocolate box. After I ate it the chocolate I wanted to redress it with paper since I was just learning how to do.
I had a piece of this wallpaper. It's pretty, also happens to be the wallpaper my grandma had on the top floor bathroom in her house. I found the scrap piece in a second hand store a long time ago and just had to own it.
Last but not least I used some Swiss vintage post order catalog pictures, glue and bookbinding tape.
The test box turned out quite good, I have to say. And my crochet stuff fits nicely inside.

Paper jewellery
While I was dressing some boxes with Japanese paper
I collected all the little scrap paper pieces, since
they were still beautiful and I wanted to use them.
So I turned the into paper beads from an old recipe from a Pellefant magazine that I read about a bazillion years ago and seem to have memorized.
I can highly recommend making paper beads. It's cheap, you can use any paper (Imagine just brown envelop paper, colorful pictures, paper with poems...) plus it's prefect to do when you watch TV but want to feel productive. Rolling little pieces of paper is kind of braindead but meditative. And you get tons of beads to put on whatever.
